Last chance to secure your place in Richmond Runfest 2018
General entry into Richmond Runfest is now closed. If you haven’t secured your place in London’s greenest running event, the only way to take part now is to run for a charity.
Richmond Runfest’s charity partners are allocated places in the Kew Gardens 10K, Richmond Half Marathon and Richmond Full Marathon for the use of their fundraisers.
Safe Child Thailand still has a limited number of places available in all three events. We’d love to have you on our team!
When is Richmond Runfest 2018?
Richmond Runfest takes place over the weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September 2018. The Kew Gardens 10K run takes place on Saturday and both Richmond Marathons take place on Sunday.
How do I secure my place?
To secure your place all you need to do is enter your details into our form on the Richmond Runfest website. We will then contact you to ask you pay a £15 registration fee after which we will confirm your place. All runners are set a minimum sponsorship target that they must commit to raising.
What is the minimum sponsorship?
For runners in the Kew Gardens 10k the minimum sponsorship is £150.
For runners in both marathons this is increased to £300.
How can I raise the money?
Spread the word that you’re taking part in Richmond Runfest as part of the Safe Child Thailand Team! Create a fundraising page and ask your friends and family for their support on social media.
The easiest and best value way to do this is by creating a fundraiser on Facebook. Search Facebook for “fundraisers”, search for “Safe Child Thailand” and create your page.
Your Fundraiser will appear in your news feed, increasing awareness from the word go. Facebook won’t even deduct funds from your efforts.
You can of course use JustGiving to raise funds, but the website will deduct fees from your fundraising.
What is included with my entry?
Runners in the Kew Gardens 10k receive two free adult passes and unlimited children’s passes to Kew Gardens before gates close at 8:45am.
All runners will receive an exclusive NIKE tech tee and a fancy medal for finishing. We also supply a Safe Child Thailand t-shirt so you can represent Team SCT on the day.
Runners in Sunday’s marathon events also receive entry to a family fun day in Richmond Park with drinks and goodies laid on in the Charity Village.
Why should I run for Safe Child Thailand?
Despite being a small UK charity of just 8 staff members we have a long and successful history of working with carefully selected partners in Thailand to keep children safe from harm. In 2018 we proudly celebrated our 35th anniversary.
Our work extends across Thailand and focusses on safe-shelter, education, healthcare, nutrition, trafficking prevention and family and community empowerment.
We’re sure there’s plenty of charities that could grant you entry into Richmond Runfest 2018. But we’d love you to run for us!
